Phobias & fears

Clinical hypnotherapy for phobias with Dr. Tara Perry, Nashville and virtual worldwide.

Flying, driving, needles, heights, public speaking: a phobia is a protective response that got filed under the wrong trigger and never got refiled.

How the method works →

Signs this pattern is running

How phobias & fears tends to show up.

  • A fear response that fires before you can reason with it
  • Avoidance that has quietly reshaped travel, work, or medical care
  • Physical symptoms: racing heart, tunnel vision, nausea, freeze
  • Full insight into why the fear is irrational, and no change from that insight
  • Anticipatory dread for days or weeks before the trigger

At a glance

Phobias respond faster than most presentations because the imprint is usually singular and datable.

The protocol

How hypnotherapy for phobias works, step by step.

  1. 01

    Locate the imprint

Regression to the first instance where the fear was encoded, including the events adjacent to it that gave it meaning.

  2. 02

    Overwrite the association

Under hypnosis the original scene is re-authored so the trigger no longer routes to a threat response.

  3. 03

    Test and reinforce

Live rehearsal against the real trigger, plus a recorded reinforcement track for the ninety-day consolidation window.

Who this is for

Is hypnotherapy for phobias right for you?

Adults whose avoidance is now costing them something concrete: a role that requires flying, a procedure they keep postponing, a stage they keep declining.

Your first visit

What to expect in session one.

Session one locates the originating event and the meaning attached to it. Session two overwrites the association under hypnosis. Session three tests the new response against the real trigger.

FAQ

hypnotherapy for phobias, asked and answered.

  • Do I have to relive the original event?

No. The work is done at an observational distance. You stay aware and in control throughout, and most clients describe it as reviewing a scene rather than re-entering it.

  • How is this different from exposure therapy?

Exposure works on tolerance: repeated contact until the response fades. This works on the encoding itself, so there is far less repetition required.

  • Does it work over video?

Yes. Phobia work is fully effective remotely, which matters when the phobia is flying and travel to a treatment room is the problem.
