**Host:** [00:00:00] Welcome to next level healing. I'm your host, Dr. Tara Perry. For 25 years, I've helped professionals, first responders, celebrities, Olympians, teachers, moms, dads, and people just like you achieve their results better and faster than they thought possible. This is where measurable modern science meets the quantum. We're so glad you're here. Let's dive right in.
**Host:** [00:00:53] Hello everybody, and welcome to this episode of Next Level Healing or Transformation Tuesday. And we are here with Cat and the reason I started this whole thing was because I wanted to demystify the experience of what it's like to go through the process. Can you what were you struggling with prior to our working together?
**Guest:** [00:01:23] Um, let's see, lots of back pain, lots of fear, um, self-doubt. Yeah, anxiety.
**Host:** [00:01:33] And what was it that made you think, okay, I want to try this because so many people are intimidated by it. They think it's scary. They think, oh my goodness, somebody's going to be in control of my mind.
**Guest:** [00:01:46] Yeah. Yeah. I I had looked into it a little bit and I've been on a journey of diving deeper into like Joe Despenza, uh, self-healing, understanding that like my brain is the ultimate, it's a good guy and a bad guy, right? And I've been feeding the bad guy and I don't know why or how this has been happening. I'm doing all the right steps, but nothing's clicking. So, I had tried acupuncture. I had tried, uh, massage. I had tried physical therapy. I tried all these things and I was like, I'm not seeing the results that I need for this back pain and it was giving me more anxiety. It was making me sadder. It was making me feel pretty helpless and just scared in general of like this is, you know, I move for a living. I move for my life. I love movement. So how am I going to get over this? And then that's when I found you and just said, you know what, screw it. We're going to do it. Give it a shot. I guess this woman can do it.
**Host:** [00:03:13] And how early on in the process did you realize, okay, this is different. This is working for me.
**Guest:** [00:03:18] Probably within the first few days after I saw you for the first time. It kind of just started to be like I think part of it's like the medicine, whatever you want to call it. I guess, the medicine of hypnotherapy starts to work its way through you the moment you decide, like, I'm going to give this a shot. It's almost like your subconscious kind of wakes up as like, uh oh, it's coming for me. And then you start giving yourself the time every single day of like, I'm obligating myself to sit in this and give it a shot every day. And I think that terrifies your subconscious too. So then you start to feed the good wolf, you know, by just stepping in and just being like, all right, all I got to do, I think my first one was eight minutes long.
**Host:** [00:04:22] So the recording.
**Guest:** [00:04:24] The recording, yeah. So you're listening to that each night as you're turning off to sleep. And I was like, this is easy, you know? Like if I if she thinks that this is really going to work if I do this for the next 30 days until I see her again, maybe she's right. Like screw it. Let's just try it. And definitely within the first few days, it started being like, you know what? I do feel a little bit lighter. You kind of think back on because it's not like you forget what you said during our session. You know, like you're completely cognitive. You know what's going on.
**Host:** [00:04:59] So I can't make you think anything you don't want to think or believe anything you don't want to believe. No.
**Guest:** [00:05:03] Not at all. Yeah.
**Host:** [00:05:04] Yeah. You're actually more in control. Wouldn't you say? Like once you move away the filters that have been stressing you out, that have not been serving you, the bad guy. Once we get him aside, you you actually have more clarity.
**Guest:** [00:05:19] Yeah. Yeah. I'd say you were like a safe guide through something of like it was all me. It was just a part of me I had no idea how to expose or get to or why it was there.
**Host:** [00:05:37] Really well said.
**Guest:** [00:05:38] Yeah, it was a it was an awakening.
**Host:** [00:05:40] And then how did it shift and change as we did the second session 30 days later and then another session 30 days after that? Did you notice how how did the did the sessions all feel the same? Did they feel different.
**Guest:** [00:05:54] I think they definitely felt different because by the time I had hit the second session, I was like, this is doing something. Like I'm starting to feel so much better. The back pain had probably gone down by half. So I think I was at like a 10. I think I said 11 because I'm dramatic sometimes, especially when in pain. Um, and so I think it was cut in half by the time I saw you again. So I was like, I'm on board. Whatever is going on here is working. And I've been very deep into inner work and how I can possibly crack myself open to get to know me more. And this just felt like a beautiful like reuniting with myself. Of like a version of me that I didn't know. I it was like, um, yeah, here's a little metaphor because I'm a metaphor, I'm an imaginary person.
**Host:** [00:07:07] Go let it.
**Guest:** [00:07:08] It's like the person that I knew was there was across this big valley like there or this crevasse, this canyon. And I had built my own little makeshift bridge and I would go over there sometimes, but it was very unstable. It was like a jungle book bridge or like a Jumanji bridge. And so you're like, does this this really stable? Like I can't be making this trek all the time. So I'll just be over here and if I can hear you from this side, like yeah, loud enough and maybe I'll listen. And it's like the tools that you gave me. It was like, I had a a construction team come help me build like a solid brick bridge.
**Host:** [00:08:04] To who the to your authentic self that you really were.
**Guest:** [00:08:08] Across this. Right. Yeah. And her and I met up and then we just became one, you know? It doesn't really feel like there's uh a different self anymore or a higher self. It's like I've fully stepped into who that woman is.
**Host:** [00:08:30] Beautiful.
**Guest:** [00:08:31] Yeah, so there.
**Host:** [00:08:32] And so when you let go of the the bad you, the fear, the anxiety, what did you find that you were able to experience more of in your life.
**Guest:** [00:08:44] Oh, more joy. Um, I'd say like freedom, like really sovereign freedom of uh the the way that you get treated in life or the bad thing that happens in the day. None of it, you know, you're honest with yourself and if you're a logical person, you can easily decipher like, was this me? And often times it is not. Someone doesn't uh honk you honk at you in traffic because it's actually you. Like sometimes they're just honking because they're angry and impatient. Sometimes you get in a fight with your significant other just because both of you are rouled up. And if you can take a step back and be like, all right, what part of this is me, what part of this is them, and how can I just like simmer everything down and just be right here right now and to really we can talk and figure out what the problem is.
**Host:** [00:09:59] Hey guys. Studies are showing that 68% of people that watch podcasts regularly don't click the subscribe button. Do me a huge favor. If you like this content, click subscribe so other people know where to go for the cool stuff. Thank you. It sounds like better boundaries, better clarity,
**Guest:** [00:10:20] Yeah.
**Host:** [00:10:20] Is that that? Yeah.
**Guest:** [00:10:21] That's definitely just a stronger sense of of self of like what am I affecting and what's affecting me and being able to shut off anything that could be like negative and find my accountability and finds uh an honest relationship where like guilt and fear and shame aren't involved on a day to day and every decision making basis.
**Host:** [00:10:55] That is so great. What else would you like to know for people to know about the process?
**Guest:** [00:11:00] Um, like you have to be ready to change that is for sure. I I don't think I think a lot of people want they think that they want to change. They think they want to get to know them as much as well. I think most people would say I'm ready. I'm ready to do this. You have to be ready to let go. I think that's the first step. You can't just be ready to do this. You need to be ready to surrender to whatever was always destined for you. Because you're not going to be able to hold on to everything.
**Host:** [00:11:51] Why why do you think that's a scary thing to let go of what doesn't serve you and embrace what is your authentic self and does serve you? Why do you think that's a scary process?
**Guest:** [00:12:02] I think people are really comfortable. I think that they I think that they'd like to live in a world where um, everything should feel like Netflix and chill of like, oh, but like life is so hard already. Like I go to work. I have to worry about money. I have to do all these things. And so when you have to calibrate in, now I'm going to change. So I have to change the way I do all these things. I don't think people realize that's what that that's what happens when they come to an experience like this. Of like all of those little ways that you were stress cooking before you had dinner. Um, and then you show up on the dinner table and you're anxiously eating. Like that's going to slow down the second you start realizing like, I have all the time in the world. I'm my own creator and I get to create more freedom here if I want to. And it kind of I remember being kind of frustrated after our first session actually. Yeah, I remember that. I journaled about it because I was like, man, like even in my positive affirmations, I'm not. I'm still kind of being rude to myself. By pointing out like, uh, I'm I'm beautiful. Have a great day. There's that subconscious thought when you brought this up to me of like, well, why would you need to affirm this if you were so are you talking to a version of yourself that doesn't believe this? And I was like, oh, wow. There's like, I shouldn't have to hype up somebody who's already having a great day. Who already knows they're worth.
**Host:** [00:14:02] Beautiful.
**Guest:** [00:14:02] So it's like waking up and looking in the mirror and being like, it is a great day. What a wonderful day to feel healthy and alive. Is I remember being really frustrated changing my affirmations or just the way I talk to myself of like, wow, this is going to be a lot. There's a lot of words that are going on in here that are completely unhelpful.
**Host:** [00:14:38] I've often described it because I see the transformations that people are able to make quickly. Um, and the effects are lasting because you're once you've made the transition, you don't want to go back to prison. That mental confined, scary place, you know, it's it's yours to keep once you've once you've got it. And then you're free to go from the level that you've gotten to after having come from this level to this level, you're free to go on to whatever, I mean, you have a lot of creative interests now that you want to pursue. Um, is there anything that you'd like to share with the audience about how to find you on Instagram and to stay tuned to what you have coming up creatively.
**Guest:** [00:15:37] Um, I'm not I think yeah, I am back on Instagram. So purely lucky. Um, you'll find me and all of my musical endeavors and traveling and yoga or whatever else comes my way will be will be active on there now.
**Host:** [00:16:03] You're looking to travel all of the United States. Sure.
**Guest:** [00:16:06] Yeah. We're getting out.
**Host:** [00:16:06] Beautiful videos and pictures of you in in wonderful environments.
**Guest:** [00:16:11] Yeah, just kind of detaching from anything we need, right? All the things you think you need to survive. I think that's what you've helped me realize is that I don't really need much more than this. Like, I got me and that's good. So.
**Host:** [00:16:29] That is so well said. Thank you so much.
